Gas stoves have always been sentimental for our country. 

Learning how to clean the gas stove is essential to ensure its regular functioning; for the people who eat on a strict budget and for those who enjoy gourmet dishes at home. To get your gas stove to last a long time and make it work for several years, you will have to regularly clean up and maintain it well. 

We have a few tips here for you to clean the gas stoves;

Soap and Baking Soda

Combining both soap and baking soda in equal amounts works wonders. You have to mix them well until you get a dense soapy consistency. You have to apply the mix on the drip pans and let them soak for an hour or two. Scrub and rinse them thoroughly, and they will be clean and shiny. 

Vinegar

Vinegar is an excellent cleanser, especially for stovetops. It works like a spell on them every single time. If you want to remove all the caked stains and the stains you just cant get rid of, vinegar is the best option. Add a tablespoon or two of vinegar in a cup of water and spray it on the stains and wipe them. As vinegar is acidic, it loosens up the particles of the stains, and it can easily be cleaned up. You can use this solution on both stainless steel and glass stovetops. 

Salt and Baking Soda

A tablespoon of both salt and baking soda works miraculously on stovetops. You can make a fine paste by adding both the components equally with some water. Use a cloth or a rag to soak into this mixture and clean the stovetops. You will have a clean Gas stove. 

Water

Water is readily available to you in your house, so you can make use of it anytime. All you have to do is boil some water and spray or pour it on the stained areas and let it sit for a while. You can use a sponge or a cloth dipped in a few drops of soap water and scrub the stove, and the stains will come off smoothly. 

Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking soda

This is the best option to get rid of grease and oil stains on the stove. Sprinkle baking soda and hydrogen peroxide on the top of the stains and let it rest. Leaving it for some time will allow it to act on the stains, and you will soon observe debris and pesky specks crumbling. You will have to rinse it with water, and your gas stove will be spotless. 

Ammonia

You can purchase ammonia in a nearby store or a pharmacy. Use it to soak the burners and grates overnight. The process is simple and easy; you just have to let them rest overnight and rinse them the following morning. All the dirt and debris stuck in them will surely float away in the water. 

Razor Scraper

Razor scrapers are one of the most helpful options when nothing else comes in handy. You can use it to scrub off the food stains all over the stove. After scraping off the stains, you can wash off the top with water or soap. 

You can use an oven cleaner along with the razor scraper to make it easier to get rid of the spots. Apply the oven cleaner on the stove and leave it overnight to soak. The following morning, use the razor scraper to scrub off the stains. You can wash and dry it after the process. 

Vegetable oil also is readily available; you can use it as a spray on the stains if they are tough to scrub off. These tricks work very well with stovetops, and you will have a glossy gas stove. 

Baking Soda and Lemon

Baking soda is well known for getting rid of stains effortlessly, and lemon has antibacterial qualities and acts as a common bactericide. The combination of lemon and baking soda work miracles as they remove all kinds of dirt and stains layered on the stove. The best part is that it does not cause the stove any damage.

It is a solution quickly prepared in your kitchen with primary ingredients, such as lemon and baking soda. A spoonful of baking soda and a few slices of lemon will work quite well. You can sprinkle the stovetop with baking soda and use the lemon slice as a scrub. Let it soak for a while, and later you can clean it up using a damp cloth.

Using soap and water is a bit of an old fashioned way that has helped for several years. Cleaning the stovetop needs a few easy steps. 

  • First, you will have to dismantle the stove by removing the burners and grates. 
  • You will have to wipe out all the dry dirt possible from the top stove and avoid scrubbing as it can cause scratches. 
  • Then, you will have to soak the burners and grates in soap water. 
  • Make sure that the fuel ports are not clogged. If you find them to be jammed, use a brush to unclog the dirt and debris. 
  • A clogged burner can cause a lot of damage when you cook, so make sure you maintain them well. 
  • Stovetops can be cleaned by scrubbing them neatly by using a soaked sponge. Make sure you soak it in soap water or use dish soap. 
  • Do not soak it too much as it can cause a mess in your kitchen and make it slippery. 
  • Work the sponge in a circular motion with enough pressure to get rid of the stains. 
  • Finally, rinse it properly using a wet towel and dry it with a kitchen towel.
